There are however a bunch of lessons here on CGRocks which cover the basics to slurring, hammer-on & pull-off techniques two etude no. So, there is no short cut tip for this etude. Review of the Best Recordings of the Etudes Short Cut Tip If you’re wondering why! Check out this detailed post on all the current editions available, and why I have chosen this particle one or which recording to buy. If you haven’t got it already, here is the best edition to buy currently for Villa-Lobos’ 12 Etudes. The intro video below explains what it is all about. Have you found it a little tough to get some of them started, or even finished? Well I have created a unique method for learning these awesome studies. Finally, beginning on page 57, there is is more advanced repertoire for the fourth-year student.I bet, like me, you want to play all 12 of Villa-Lobos’ awesome studies? And not just kind of perform them, but actually play and understand them! There is also a collection of Fernando Sor Studies on page 45, which may be used for technical support or for concert repertoire. Again, in each technical area, there are a variety of pieces to choose from. Here, there are more advanced studies and repertoire which emphasizes some of the same techniques the second-year students will be working on, but obviously, taking it a step further. The third and fourth-year material begins on page 19. It is not intended that all the pieces be played. Note that in all technical areas, there are multiple pieces and studies to choose from. The second-year section of the book concludes with Lagrima or Adelita, by Francisco Tárrega, which I use as an end-of-the year final. This includes learning two-and three-part literature (melody, bass and pedal), using and combining rest stroke and free stroke, slurs, grace notes, harmonics, and playing out of first position. As a continuation of the beginning book, the classical guitar repertoire in this section moves from the relatively simple arpeggio patterns presented in the first book to more advanced technique. The first part of the Classical Guitar book is intended for my second-year students.
